InsureCancer is the trading style of Medi Travelcover Ltd. adopted in early 2007 so as to better reflect the specialist services offered by Medi Travelcover Ltd, whose sole purpose is providing travel insurance to those affected by cancer. As the UK's only specialist cancer insurance provider over 95% of our travel insurance policies are issued to individuals who have had a diagnosis of cancer.

Our policies are specially designed for those living with cancer and we routinely provide cover for those with active, metastatic, relapsed or terminal cancer to destinations worldwide including North America.

Each case is individually underwritten and with specialist knowledge of the treatment and management of cancer, we are ready to consider individuals undergoing treatment such as chemo or radiotherapy.

A key requirement is that holiday makers should be clinically stable and be travelling with the consent of their attending specialist Consultant. To get a feel for the range and types of medical conditions we are able to consider, please refer to the 'Recent Cases' section on this website.

We work closely with UK charities, cancer networks, specialist medical centres and support groups. With a special focus on children, we have a close working relationship with many trusts particularly the Christian Lewis Trust, which seeks to offer support to families and individuals affected by a child with cancer. We actively support a number of cancer charities and ask all our customers to help them by choosing to make a donation.

On the 21st April 2007 H.M. The Queen bestowed the country’s highest corporate honour ‘The Queen’s Award for Enterprise’ on InsureCancer and Medi Travelcover Ltd. in recognition of:

“Pioneering insurance underwriting innovation for those affected by cancer.”

Medi Travelcover Ltd was voted 'Insurer of the Year 2005/6' at the International Travel Insurance Conference in Seville, Spain.

InsureCancer & Medi Travelcover Ltd support the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's 'Know Before You Go' campaign. It encourages British nationals to be better prepared for their overseas trips with a view to avoiding common travelling traumas, risks and dangers. This campaign complements the FCO’s highly regarded travel advice service. In particular, it encourages people to take out adequate insurance prior to overseas travel as well as providing practical advice ranging from familiarising themselves with the customs and culture of destinations, through to accessing advice on health and passport issues.
