Cases

InsureCancer provides specialist travel insurance for individuals with a diagnosis of cancer. In the recent past we have issued travel insurance policies for a wide range of cancers. Here are some of the cases we have done.

    Diagnosed metastatic kidney cancer with bilateral lung involvement. Carbozantinib ongoing. Note: DVT leg, apixaban ongoing. Also, hypertension, Felodipine. EU cruise for 12 days.
  • G.M (78)

    Diagnosed metastatic lung cancer, left lower lobe wedge resection, no further treatment. Relapsed nodal involvement, commenced pembrolizumab and ongoing. USA for 22 days. Note: Pembrolizumab induced hypothyroidism, levothyroxine ongoing.
  • J.M (62)

    Diagnosed brain tumour glioblastoma multiforme. Chemoradiotherapy followed by Temozolomide ongoing. Travelling to Tenerife for 8 days.

Diagnosed mesothelioma with adrenal involvement. Nivolumab and ipilimumab ongoing. Note: Adrenal insufficiency, hydrocortisone ongoing, also T2 Diabetic, Gliclazide + Metformin ongoing. Travelling to Madeira for 8 days.

Diagnosed metastatic prostate cancer. Radiotherapy and hormone therapy. Relapse nodal and bone involvement. Prostap and Enzalutamide ongoing. Note: angina and hypertension diagnosed 5+ years, Enalapril, Bisoprolol, Aspirin and Atorvastatin ongoing. Travelling to the USA for 12 days.

Diagnosed Acute Myeloid Leukaemia. Azacitidine and Venetoclax ongoing. Note: also diagnosed osteoarthritis, knee replacement 7+ years, gout, allopurinol ongoing, anterior cervical discectomy 5+ years and fusion C5-7, completely uneventful since. Travelling to Cyprus for 9 days.

Diagnosed brain tumour glioblastoma multiforme. Chemoradiotherapy followed by Temozolomide ongoing. Travelling to Tenerife for 8 days.

Diagnosed right multicentric breast cancer. Chemotherapy, right mastectomy and reconstruction. Travelling to Florida for 15 days.

K.M (54)

Diagnosed metastatic lung cancer with adrenal, bone and brain involvement. Brain stereotactic radiosurgery followed by Osimertinib, ongoing. Travelling to Greece for 8 days.

N.G (74)

Diagnosed metastatic prostate cancer with nodal, skeletal and lung involvement. Enzalutamide and hormone therapy commenced. Travelling to Italy for 14 days.

Diagnosed metastatic breast cancer with nodal and bone involvement. Commenced Ipatasertib trial. Paclitaxel stopped, Ipatasertib and Atezolizumab ongoing. Note: Portacath and diagnosed hypertension, hypothyroidism, and migraine. Travelling to Spain for 6 days.

Diagnosed metastatic stomach cancer with liver, omental and peritoneal involvement. Commenced SPOTLIGHT trial, ongoing chemotherapy. Travelling to Florida for 17 days.

J.N (75)

Diagnosed metastatic breast cancer, relapsed, lung, bone and lymph nodes, commenced hormone therapy. Relapsed, commenced Phesgo & chemotherapy, now maintenance Phesgo only. Note: Subclavian vein thrombosis, Rivaroxaban ongoing.  Also, hypertension and asthma, stable on medications. Travelling to Switzerland for 8 days.

Diagnosed metastatic lung cancer, left lower lobe wedge resection, no further treatment. Relapsed nodal involvement, commenced pembrolizumab and ongoing.  Note:  Pembrolizumab induced hypothyroidism, levothyroxine ongoing. USA for 22 days.

Diagnosed metastatic oesophageal cancer with nodal and lung involvement. CAPOX chemotherapy + Trastuzumab.  Now progression lung awaiting palliative chemotherapy. Travelling to France for 17 days.

B.G (76)

Diagnosed metastatic colorectal cancer with nodal involvement.  Resection followed by chemotherapy.  Relapsed, lung involvement, resected.  Note: also diagnosed hypertension, hypercholesterolaemia, reflux, and peripheral neuropathy. Madeira & Azores cruise for 16 days.

E.B (77)

Diagnosed metastatic colon cancer with nodal involvement. Right hemicolectomy, followed by chemotherapy. Relapse, lung and peritoneal involvement, Lonsurf and bevacizumab ongoing. Mediterranean cruise for 15 days.

N.N (77)

(1) Diagnosed metastatic prostate cancer. Bicalutamide therapy, radiotherapy, and radical prostatectomy.  Relapsed, bone and lung involvement.  Now Bicalutamide, Enzalutamide, LHRH ongoing.

(2) Also diagnosed Kidney cancer, right nephrectomy, no further treatment required. Note: hypercholesterolaemia, medication ongoing. Travelling to Spain for 15 days.

F.B (74)

Diagnosed metastatic lung cancer with bone involvement.  Palliative radiotherapy completed. Now progression, for consideration of systemic therapy on return from holiday. Codeine, Oramorph & Zopiclone ongoing.  Note: also diagnosed ulcerative colitis, T2 diabetes and COPD. Travelling to Greece for 10 days.

R.T (81):

Diagnosed metastatic prostate cancer, prostatectomy, neo adjuvant hormones and radical radiotherapy. Relapse, nodal and lung involvement. Apalutamide and Prostap ongoing. Note:  Basal cell carcinoma, Glaucoma, TIA, Asthma, and basal cell carcinoma.  Atorvastatin, Clopidogrel, Latanoprost, Brinzolamide, Clenil Modulite, Mometasone ongoing.  Travelling to the USA for 22 days.
